About Our Venue
Meet the Owners
We are Regina Lynn and Daniel Lynn, and for the past 44 years of marriage—and a lifetime of shared dreams—we have believed in building something meaningful for the people around us. After raising our three children and spending 32 years owning and managing Lynn Auto Repair in Jackson, Tennessee, we felt called to begin a new chapter rooted in community and connection. In 2019, we purchased two adjacent historic buildings in downtown Humboldt and began the journey of restoring them into what is now Franklin Hall, carefully preserving the original character and charm that made these spaces so special. Our hope was to create a welcoming place for Humboldt and the surrounding areas—a venue where weddings, celebrations, gatherings, and milestones of all kinds can be shared, where lasting memories are made, and where relationships have room to grow.
The History
Franklin Hall is made up of two historic buildings, each with a story deeply rooted in downtown Humboldt. The main brick venue building at 117 North 14th Avenue was constructed in 1946 after the original structure on the lot was cleared, and it first opened its doors as a Kroger store. In 1965, the building became home to First National Bank under local banker J. Frank Warmath, and during the 1960s, the drive-through area even served as a gathering place for local dances—adding a unique social chapter to its history. In 1979, Warren L. Herndon and his wife purchased the property and successfully operated the Factory Surplus Drapery Store there until about 2015. Next door, the annex building at 119 North 14th Avenue dates back even further, originally serving as a livery stable in 1905. By 1927, it had become a retail store and featured a hand-cranked elevator to access the upstairs. From 1952 to 1976, it operated as Christmas Auto Supply, a local hardware store, and in 1977 it transitioned into the Factory Surplus Drapery Outlet, officially joining with the 117 building—bringing these two historic spaces together long before they became the connected venue they are today.
